Event Overview

Goshinkosai is a vital ritual held at Usa Jingu in Usa City, Oita Prefecture, as part of the Natsu Kooshi Oiwai (Summer Grand Celebration). This deeply historical festival has records dating back to the Heian period and was once known for its spirited and vigorous atmosphere. The sight of the three divine palanquins carrying the three deities (Hachiman Okami, Hime Okami, and Empress Jingu) traveling from the Jingu (Upper Shrine) to the Tonno-miya (Lower Shrine) is truly breathtaking.

Furthermore, on the night of August 2nd, the "Yakuyoke Fireworks Display" takes place, adding a brilliant and colorful conclusion to the sacred festivities.
