The Edogawa Fireworks Festival is one of Tokyo's two major fireworks displays, held along the banks of the Edogawa River between Edogawa City, Tokyo, and Ichikawa City, Chiba. It is a premier event known for its massive scale and high-quality production. The festival features a diverse program ranging from traditional Japanese fireworks to cutting-edge modern displays.
The main highlight is the 'Music Fireworks,' where pyrotechnics are perfectly synchronized with music. Fireworks are launched across eight different themes, each with a unique atmosphere. The opening is particularly intense, with 1,000 shells launched in just 5 seconds. Additionally, look out for the spectacular mountain-shaped fireworks that reached a height of 59.2m, a feat recognized by Guinness World Records.

The festival attracts massive crowds. The riverbank on the Edogawa side is extremely crowded, so we recommend arriving early. To fully enjoy the music-synchronized displays, try to find a spot with a clear view and good sound visibility.
