The Asakusa Samba Carnival is one of Japan's largest samba celebrations, held in the historic Asakusa district of Taito, Tokyo. Since its inception in 1981, it has grown into a massive event, ranking as one of the largest samba carnivals outside of Brazil and in the Northern Hemisphere. This is more than just a parade; it is a highly professional competition where teams present an "Enredo" (a specific story or theme) through music, elaborate costumes, and massive floats called "Alegoria."
