The Doshin UHB Fireworks Display is a massive summer event held along the banks of the Toyohira River in Sapporo, Hokkaido. As a beloved summer tradition in the city, it features a spectacular display of approximately 4,000 fireworks. The program is designed to keep spectators captivated, moving from the energetic "Summer Night Carnival" to the moving "Dreaming Night," and finally to the breathtaking "Grand Finale."

The main highlight is the powerful display of fireworks that fill the night sky above the beautiful Toyohira River. With about 4,000 shells launched, colorful lights will vividly illuminate the Sapporo cityscape. From the wide riverbank areas, you can experience the dynamic production up close, spanning from the Minami 19-jo Bridge to the near Horopiri Bridge area. It is a perfect way to enjoy the summer night breeze while immersed in the artistry of music-synchronized fireworks.
Date and Schedule
The event is scheduled for July 31, 2026. The fireworks are expected to begin at 19:40 and the program will run for approximately 50 minutes. Please note that the schedule may change due to weather conditions, and in the event of bad weather, the display may be postponed to Friday, August 7. Venue and Access
The venue is the Toyohira River bank in Sapporo (Launch area: between Minami 19-jo Bridge and Horopiri Bridge). The wide area from Toyohira Bridge to the vicinity of Minami 19-jo Bridge is ideal for viewing.
【Important Access Notes】
- Public transportation is strongly recommended. Please note that stations like Nakajima Koen Station and Horopiri Bridge Station on the Namboku Line will be extremely crowded, and entry restrictions may be implemented. It is recommended to use Toyosu-Susukino Station or Gakuen-mae Station on the Toho Line, or Nakanojima Station on the Namboku Line.
- There is no parking available near the venue. Parking in the vicinity is strictly prohibited.
- Please refrain from bringing bicycles to the immediate vicinity of the venue.
- Viewing from the top of bridges, roadways, or sidewalks is not permitted.
Tips for Participation
To make the most of your experience, preparation is key. The area becomes very crowded, so please plan to arrive early. To ease congestion at subway stations, visitors are encouraged to spread out their arrival times. While the proximity to the launch area offers an intense experience of light and sound, the use of drones is strictly prohibited for safety.
What to Bring and Etiquette
As this is an outdoor nighttime event, please wear comfortable clothing and prepare for the evening temperature. Please do not litter or cause any disturbance to local residents. Always follow the instructions of police officers and security staff.
