The 32nd Yuza-Chokai Sekkaku Walk is a specialized walking event designed to let you experience the rich natural beauty and geological wonders of Yuza Town, Yamagata. You will explore the stunning landscapes of the Mt. Chokai/Asuka Geo Park alongside professional guides. The tour offers a luxurious way to see the area, combining scenic bus transport with refreshing walking segments.

The highlight of this tour is the opportunity to venture deep into the natural wonders of Yuza with expert commentary. You will visit the mystical Maruike Pond, famous for its emerald green waters, the historic Misaki Coast once visited by the poet Matsuo Basho, and the Kamaiso Coast where fresh spring water bubbles up from the sand. By combining bus travel with approximately 7km of walking, you can efficiently discover the profound charms of the region.

Venue & Access

The meeting and departure point is either JR Yuza Station or Chokai Onsen Yurari.

The course includes scenic spots such as Ushiro River, Maruike Pond, Misaki Coast, Kamaiso Coast, and Michi-no-Eki Chokai Flat.

Participation Details

This tour uses a combination of bus transport and walking. Since the route includes about 7km of walking, proper preparation is essential. The capacity is limited to 80 participants (minimum 40 required), and registration closes once the limit is reached. The participation fee includes a local bento lunch, allowing you to enjoy the flavors of the region while exploring the outdoors.
