Event Overview

The 14th Arita Natsu Matsuri Summer Fireworks Display is a beloved local tradition held at Rekishi to Bunka no Mori Park in Arita, Saga Prefecture. This celebration brings the spirit of a Japanese summer to life in the refreshing October air. As approximately 1,000 fireworks illuminate the night sky, the venue will come alive with stage performances, traditional Bon Odori dancing, and a lively selection of food stalls, offering a complete immersion into Japanese festival culture.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The main highlight is the breathtaking fireworks display starting at 20:00, where about 1,000 shells will paint the dark sky with light. From 15:00, the area will be filled with various food stalls (Yatai), allowing you to sample delicious Japanese festival snacks. You can also enjoy stage events and join the local community in the Bon Odori dance. To end the night on a high note, a grand lottery is scheduled for 19:30, adding even more excitement to the festivities.

Schedule

The event takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Please note that the event proceeds in the rain, but if strong winds occur, the fireworks display will be postponed to the following day, Monday, October 5.

If the main parking lot is full, please use the following temporary parking areas:

  • Rekishi to Bunka no Mori Park (Himeno Hakubunendo Parking)
  • Chosechi (Lower side of Rekishi to Bunka no Mori Park)
  • Magariwa Elementary School Parking (West side only; no parking on the school grounds)
  • Arita Town Hall East Branch (Saga Bank Arita Branch)
  • Arita Town Hall Main Office / Former Kyorytsu Hospital Site
  • ARITA CERERA

Shuttle Bus Information

To reduce congestion, shuttle buses will run between the following points:

  • Route: Arita Town Hall East Branch — ARITA CERERA — Main Town Hall (Former Kyorytsu Hospital Site)
  • Outbound: 16:30 to last bus at 19:30
  • Return: 17:00 to last bus at 22:00

Tips for Visitors

We recommend arriving early to fully enjoy the festivities. Food stalls begin at 15:00, so you can enjoy some local street food while watching the stage events and dancing. Since the fireworks start at 20:00, it is wise to secure a good viewing spot a little earlier.
