Guide
Aki-moide is a special seasonal event held at Kawagoe Kumano Jinja, a shrine renowned for bringing good luck, matchmaking, and protection from misfortune. Amidst the crisp autumn air, visitors can experience traditional rituals and events designed to purify the mind and body while praying for prosperity.
The main highlight of Aki-moide is the opportunity to engage in unique rituals for good fortune. Key experiences include the "Yatagarasu Suzu no Wa-kuguri" (passing through the Yatagarasu bell rings), the traditional "Ningyo Kiyomeharai" (purification of dolls), and the offering of "Tanzaku" (wish strips) to send your prayers to the deities. During specific periods, special guidance events are also held for a deeper spiritual experience.
The Aki-moide period is as follows:
The event takes place at the historic Kawagoe Kumano Jinja in Kawagoe, Saitama.
During Aki-moide, special Goshuin (temple stamps) are available. If you collect all five seasonal Goshuin (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and New Year), you may receive special benefits such as a "Shichifukujin Wallet." Additionally, certain Goshuin collections may grant you a "Golden Yatagarasu Omamori Kumoji." Enjoy your visit while connecting with Japan's rich spiritual traditions.
