The 39th Izena 88 Triathlon will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, on Izena Island, Okinawa. Izena Island is a beautiful remote island accessible via ferry from northern Okinawa Main Island. This historic event is now celebrating its 39th year.
This triathlon is held within the breathtaking natural environment of Izena Island. Participants will compete in swimming, cycling, and running disciplines surrounded by untouched nature. As a remote island destination, the unique atmosphere and the warm support from the local island community make this a truly special experience.

The venue is Izena Island, Okinawa. To reach the island, you must take a ferry from the northern part of Okinawa Main Island. Please check the official website for detailed course maps and departure points.
Pre-registration via the internet is mandatory to participate. The registration window is from July 1 to July 31, 2026. Since spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, we recommend applying early. Regarding accommodation, information on local stays (minpaku/homestays) and campsites is provided through the local tourism association. For guest houses, please contact the individual facilities directly.
Please prepare your own equipment for the race and necessary items for your stay based on your chosen accommodation. As this is a remote island, we recommend confirming payment methods and accommodation availability in advance. Ensure you have all necessary gear for both the competition and island living.
