The Tanabe Fireworks Festival is a historic and large-scale event held at Ogihama Beach in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. Approximately 3,500 fireworks will light up the night sky. This festival is held on the same day as the 'Benkei Matsuri' festival, allowing you to experience the vibrant local culture and traditions alongside the powerful firework displays.

The absolute highlight is the 'Ultra-Wide Panorama Fireworks,' which spans a staggering 1,000 meters. This massive display of light art is truly breathtaking. Additionally, the show features unique themes related to Tanabe's famous local specialty, the plum. Look out for colorful displays such as the 'Giant Weeping Red and White Plum,' 'Cheers with Plum Wine' (plum-colored lights), and 'Genki 100% Umeboshi Red!' The program is thoughtfully structured, featuring cutting-edge color gradients and displays dedicated to peace.

Venue and Access
The venue is Ogihama Beach, Tanabe City. Due to extreme crowding, the use of public transportation is highly recommended. If you choose to drive, temporary parking lots are available, but they are limited and typically fill up very early.

- Important Note: For safety reasons, vehicle entry to the Tanabe Ogihama Beach parking area is restricted from 17:00 to 22:00, and vehicle exit is restricted from 20:00 to 21:00.
Participation Tips
This event is held simultaneously with the 'Benkei Matsuri,' a festival celebrating local history. You can enjoy both the fireworks and the festive atmosphere of the local community. There are also related activities such as photo contests, making it a perfect event for photography enthusiasts.
What to Bring and Etiquette
- *Payment**: You may need small change when exiting parking areas. Please note that 10,000, 5,000, and 2,000 yen bills cannot be used; please prepare coins in advance.
- *No Unmanned Aircraft**: The use of drones, camera-equipped multi-copters, or RC helicopters is strictly prohibited for safety.
- *Boating**: Please refrain from viewing the fireworks from fishing boats, pleasure boats, or motorboats.
- *Tsunami Safety**: As the event is held near the coast, if a tsunami warning is issued, please evacuate immediately to designated facilities such as the Kinan Cultural Center or Tanabe City Budo Hall.
