Guide
The Aburatsu Port Festival Fireworks is a quintessential summer tradition held at Aburatsu Port in Nichinan City. The sight of massive, colorful fireworks blooming against the backdrop of a tranquil port town creates a magical atmosphere that captivates visitors. As a highlight of this local festival, it is a special event that draws many people to celebrate the summer season.
The main attraction is the powerful firework display that lights up the night sky. The stunning contrast between the fireworks and the harbor scenery offers a unique emotional experience found only during this season. Beyond the fireworks, you can enjoy various local activities such as public displays of patrol boats and Shogi tournaments, allowing you to experience the diverse charms of the region.
The event takes place on July 18. The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 20:00. Please note that the event will proceed in light rain, but in the case of severe weather, it will be postponed to the following day, July 19. Since schedules may change due to weather conditions, we recommend checking the latest information closer to the date.
The venue is within Aburatsu Port, Nichinan City. There is no parking available at the immediate venue site. Please use the designated temporary parking lots at either "Aburatsu Port East Pier (Quay No. 11)" or "Odotzu Port." Shuttle buses run from these parking areas to the venue (near the former Aburatsu Fishing Port) starting from 16:00. Note that a "Parking Ticket (Seiriken)" must be purchased in advance to use the parking.
For a more comfortable experience, we highly recommend booking paid spectator seats. Options include paid seats near the main area (near Aburatsu Port West Green Space) and private seats that include dedicated parking. Since paid seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, early booking is strongly advised. Checking local food stall information in advance will also enhance your festival experience.
As this is an outdoor night event, please dress appropriately for the season and temperature. The use of open flames is strictly prohibited at the venue. If you use paid spectator seats, please keep your tickets safe until the end of the event, as they cannot be reissued. Additionally, remember to bring your required parking tickets for shuttle bus and parking access. Please check the official website for specific payment methods and reservation details.
